Review: Aleatha Romig's "Plus One (Lighter Ones #1)."

Synopsis:

He's sexy and confident, the kind of man every woman notices. You know, the one with the to-die-for body and panty-melting smirk. And then there's the way his designer suits drape over his broad shoulders and big...well, we've all heard the rumors, the ones that say he's up for any challenge.

But I can't see him that way. He's my boss—technically one of the owners of the company where I work—and definitely not in my league. Men like him don't notice women like me, and they don't date them.

And I don't date men like him.

Until that one time that I catch him in a compromising position when I'm also in need of a last-minute date for a wedding...and then it's not real. It's blackmail.

For one weekend, he's my plus-one.

Beautiful and unobtainable.

From the moment she walked into my office with those stunning blue eyes and crazy sensual curves, she's been on my mind. Three years and never once has she acted interested in me. Usually I flash a million-dollar smile and women fall to their knees, some literally.

Not her.

Then on the occasion that I agree to let another woman do that—fall to her knees—guess who happens to catch us?

It may not be the most conventional way to get on her radar, but I didn't get this far in business without knowing when to seize an opportunity. If this sexy little firecracker with perfectly kissable lips thinks she can blackmail me into attending her cousin's wedding, I'm going to jump at the chance to be her plus-one.

Review: Jo

I freaking loved this book! It was the most perfect swoony romantic read that left me with a huge smile on my face and a lovely blissful feeling in my heart. If you are looking for a romance to sweep you off your feet, you can't go wrong with this gorgeous novel.

“Duncan, this view is breathtaking.”
“Yes. It’s absolutely breathtaking. I’ve been breathless for nearly three years."

I absolutely loved the main characters in this story. The heroine was just so easy to relate to. Kimbra had so much going for her, a brilliant job, a lovely best friend and a wonderful family, but she had such a low opinion of herself when it came to men. It made me so sad that she didn't realise how beautiful she was. When it came to a family wedding she thought the only way she could get a man to be her date was to blackmail him. From that moment on everything changed for Kimbra as she went to a family wedding with the sexy and swoon-worthy Duncan. Duncan made such a great hero of the story. He was so lovely and completely smitten over kimbra. I was excited to see their relationship develop.

"I could never have created fantasies that would live up to the real you.”

The story that followed was a beautiful romance that made my heart so full that it was bursting at the seams. It was also a story that was filled with lovable characters( especially grandma Helen) and hilariously fun banter. It was a book that ticked every single box for me. Aleatha Roming is an author that can easily write both lighthearted and dreamy love as well as brilliant and heart-stopping dark suspense. I can't wait to read more from the series.

"I want to be your plus-one forever and never, ever pretend again."

"Plus One" gets 4.5 ❤️'s from me.
